book review: Sunset By the River

Author: Sameer Saxena

Simply put, its a beautifully thought of love story which ultimately teaches you, pure love overcomes any curve-ball life throws at you.

The protagonist Ayaan Vaidya has it all going for him. Good education, a dream career in the corporate world, active social life, international accolades…everything he had ever wanted. However the void in his life from a broken heart remains a sore spot. He is in Japan on a placement till one day he gets a call from India and that changes everything. In fact that is where the story actually begins and takes the reader through a whirlwind of his past, with the love of his life, Tripti and her turmoils.

The author has touched upon a crucial topic which is often shoved below the carpet and hushed away. That’s mental health. The narrative goes into the depth of matters and is informative. My personal favorite was the way the ending took place after tying up all the loose ends.

For a debut the book is a good read. A little improvisation on the language lucidity particularly in the emotional portrayal and a little depth into other relationships, can help create a masterpiece.

Available on Amazon in both paperback and kindle formats.
